The Electrical Engineering Department was established in 1987 with the intake of
60 students. The Department is also crowned with ‘A- Grade’ by NAAC (National Assessment
And Accreditation Council Bangalore) and NBA (National Board of Accreditation New
Delhi an autonomous subsidiary of AICTE.) in 2003
The Department has well-designed beautiful, spacious complete floor in the north

The ASEE [Association of Students of Electrical Engineering] organizes many cultural
and academic functions such as quiz completions, lectures of experts from Industries
and Academic Institutions, Industrial Tours, Exhibitions etc. The Department is
having good Library containing large number of text books, reference Books, technical
publications, seminar and project reports of final year U.G. and P.G.
The Department is also conducting Post Graduate course in Power system [M. Tech
Electrical (Power Systems) since 2001. The admissions for this course are 18 students.

Present Status at National and International Level
The Department is recognized at national and International level as many students
are doing P.G. programs outside India and in other universities in India. Many of
the student high acquired top positions in many establishments. Many International
students are perusing their
U. G. and P.G. studies in the Department. Companies like Larson & Toubro Ltd.
Mumbai.
Have sponsored there L.T. equipments to the department.

The campus selection of the final and pre final year electrical students is almost
100 % since 2005, 2006and 2007 in multinational companies like – T.C.S, Accenture,
L & T Infotech, Syntel, T.C.E. Schneider, Godrej and Boyce.

The department has changed its various syllabi to adopt latest global trends by
introducing use of computers and various soft wares like Mat-Lab,PS spice, Power
Tech,Circuit Lab and many others.

The Department is adopting latest trends by using readymade softwares in the projects
Of the final year. The students are encouraged to take sponsored projects from Industries
for U.G. and P.G. level.

Effects and Use to The Society
The department is Offering Consultancy in Power Factor crrection,Energy Audit, harmonic
Analysis and Filter Design at a very moderate rates. It is also conducting surveies
of public Electric Erections and recommending safety corrections for the same to
the concerned authorities for the benefit of public at no cost.

Future Scope
The Department is extending Reaserch facilities for ‘Energy Audit’ by providing
independent full-fledged Energy Laboratory, Testing of H V and L V switchgears,
and setting a permanent consultancy Unit.
